A wonderful speakeasy. Reserved a place in advance. Arrived on time and they breezed us into their lovely cavernous space. Everything was well thought through. The cocktails (and 1 mocktail) were delicious, the team great and welcoming. A great experience.
Reserved in advance, and literally thought they were closed when I arrived…a truly hidden gem, secret bar…with amazing cocktails and a different experience. It is a cocktail bar so do not expect to drink anything else.
Be prepared to be lost in the street looking for the place - don't miss out the door nº55 with the buzzer for drinks! One of the best "to-do" in Maastricht. Starting with the "secret bar" experience, to the friendly and experienced service that gave us many recommendations and was really fast on delivering the drinks. Regarding these ones, were extremely well done, and suitable for the price, served with some snacks. The place itself is a basement with vintage items and small tables. Perfect for a date, pre-drinks, or just a cocktail night. Truly recommend!
This is a cocktailbar, delicious cocktails. There are a lot different kind of cocktails and they are all good. It is a small place in the basement. One thing you have to know when you are planning to go for a drink… when you use the gps and you are at the place you will not see the signs.. you will recognize it on the door handle … it’s a must .. good to experience it. It’s better to make a reservation …. I would say … enjoy your drink!!!
Try to text and reserve ahead a few days prior if able, especially big group. If it’s just yourself and another person you may get lucky showing up right when they open for a seat no reservation. Patiently wait at door for them to answer as it gets busy and could take a minute.
Highly recommend sitting at bar and watching these mixologists in their craft. All of your senses will be touched. True professionals and the drinks out of this world, way better than my experience in Amsterdam at a similar place. Anytime I visit Maastricht I always try to stop by Mr. Smith’s, amazing experience and great trying new drinks that will provide a nice break from the great Belgian beers in town. The bartenders are so friendly, explain drink creations, put on a show and most importantly love what they do as well as the people.
Excellent Speak Easy Cocktail Bar! Style, Quality, Decor, Atmosphere, Cocktails, Service, all 10/10. Ruben, Erin and Tess made me fell so welcome and entertained! Certainly the number 1 place for a cocktail in Masstricht and i would imagine Netherlands 🇳🇱
Nice place, and the employees are nice but the cocktails were not good. Mine was bland ! A slight taste of alcohol and that was it. My friend took a Morito, the dosage was wrong. Too strong, no sweetness at all (like they forgot to put sugar cane syrup) and definitely too much ice.
We left without drinking our cocktails. Plus, it took then 20mn to make it!
Can not get enough of this place, me and my friends enjoy it every-time we go. From the cocktails to the service and the atmosphere its amazing. The cocktail are pricy compared to some places but worth it for sure. Some flavors are out there so I would recommend to ask the workers if you have concerns and are picky. They are also happy to help.
